DODGE CENTER, Minn. - Crews found the body of a missing boy in a Dodge County pond on Tuesday evening.
The Dodge County Sheriff's Office says the 7-year-old boy was reportedly swimming with friends at Naylor's Pond when he went missing. According to the sheriff's office, when the initial report came in the boy had been missing for about 10 minutes.
Crews arrived and began searching the pond and surrounding areas. At about 7:30 p.m., the sheriff's office reports that divers located the boy's body in a deeper area of the pond, near where his friends had last seen him.
The Olmsted County Medical Examiner's Office will do an autopsy Wednesday to confirm accidental drowning as the cause of death, the sheriff's office says.
Several agencies helped with the search.
