Man charged in shooting death near St. Cloud

Police chased down and arrested the suspect in Bismarck, North Dakota Sunday morning. He was charged Monday.

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Charges have been filed against a man police believe fatally shot a man in an apartment Saturday afternoon.

Desmond Ormandy Barzey, 20, faces seven charges in Stearns County District Court, including second-degree unintentional murder, second-degree assault and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Police say the shooting took place in an apartment in the 400 block of Park Meadows Drive in Waite Park. The victim, with an upper body gunshot wound, was brought by friends to the St. Cloud Hospital. Bobby Tercel Williams, 19, from St. Cloud, later died at the hospital.

Authorities say Williams and Barzey knew each other.

With the help of several agencies, Barzey was located in North Dakota. Authorities arrested Barzey following a high-speed chase. A Glock 9 MM firearm was found in the vehicle.
