VERMILLION, Minn. - An online fundraiser has been set up for the second of two fathers killed in a Dakota County crash on Father's Day weekend.

The Dakota County Sheriff's Office is still working with the Minnesota State Patrol to investigate the circumstances of the crash, but preliminary reports suggest a truck driven by 36-year-old Jon Fontaine, of Farmington, failed to slow for a stop sign and hit another vehicle near the intersection of Goodwin Avenue and 190th Street East on Saturday evening.

According to the Fontaine family GoFundMe page, Jon and his 12-year-old son were coming home from an afternoon of fishing.

"Jon Fontaine was a strong soul that had always persevered through life. When life threw him a challenge, he never gave up, buckled down, and overcame any curveball sent his way," the page reads.

In October 2011, Jon lost his right arm and leg.

"He never let that stop him from providing for his family. He learned to walk again, learned to write with his left hand, and showed us all that disabilities are not anything that can stop you from living the life you want to live. His will to love and care for his family gave him the ambition to do the impossible. He was an amazing man that will be missed by all that knew him," the fundraiser reads.

Fontaine's son, one of his three children, survived the crash.

The crash also killed 34-year-old Jared Lazer of Rosemount. Lazer's wife and three kids suffered non-life threatening injuries. Click here to visit the Lazer family GoFundMe page.
