GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Officers extinguished a house fire that broke out on the 1500 block of Zealand Avenue in Golden Valley on Saturday night.
According to Officer Massicotte, around 6:30 p.m, Golden Valley Fire Department received a call about a possible structural fire. When officers arrived, they found flames protruding from different sides of a three-story house.
Officers confirmed that there were no injuries as occupants inside the house were able to evacuate in time.
The occupants of the home had two dogs but their current whereabouts are unknown, according to Massicotte.
Officers stated that because of the unknown conditions within the house, they had to be on the 'defensive,' or not enter the house, while they attempted to put out the fire.
Fire departments in St. Louis Park, Plymouth, Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, Robbinsdale and Hopkins also responded and helped extinguish the fire.
Golden Valley Fire Department is currently investigating what caused the fire but urge people to make sure they have properly working fire alarms because of how fast fires can spread.
