House fire kills senior in Milaca

While an investigation is still underway, authorities do not suspect any foul play in the incident, citing the fire as a 'tragic accident.'

MILACA, Minn. — On June 9 at approximately 7:47 a.m., The Mille Lacs County Sheriff's Department says they responded to a house fire on 52nd Avenue in Milaca, Minnesota. Authorities state that 67-year-old Timothy Alkire died after being trapped inside.

Police say Timothy's 93-year-old mother, Alyce, described how Timothy had been paralyzed after previously suffering a stroke. He was trapped within his bedroom as flames began to engulf parts of the house. His remains were uncovered after fire teams were able to extinguish the fire.

Timothy's remains have since been handed over to the Midwest Medical Examiners Office.
