NEW HOPE, Minn. — A 13-year-old boy in New Hope is dead after authorities said he drowned in an apartment pool.
First responders were alerted to the drowning at the Parkridge Way Apartments on Wednesday just after 7 p.m. According to the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, the teen was alone when he went into the pool, and was under water for about half an hour before bystanders saw him and pulled him out.
Authorities said officers attempted CPR on the scene before he was taken to North Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death.
