A corrections officer was assaulted on Wednesday morning at the Stillwater prison.
Sarah Fitzgerald with the Minnesota Department of Corrections said the incident happened late in the morning. She said an offender assaulted a sergeant in the B-East living unit.
Fitzgerald said other officers responded "quickly and professionally and contained the incident."
The officer who was attacked was evaluated, and the DOC reported later in the afternoon that they had been released from the hospital.
The MCF-Stillwater unit was locked down while authorities investigated the incident.
