Major road closures could slow down your weekend

There are three major road closures around the metro we need to let you know about this weekend.

Looking to get out and about this weekend? You'll definitely want to plan ahead. Several major road closures across the metro will be slowing down your weekend fun.

Here's a rundown of what to watch out for:

Highway 62 closure

First up, westbound Highway 62 is closed this weekend from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday from Highway 55 to Highway 77. The closure is due to work on the bridge at 28th Ave S.

To get around it, you'll have to use Highway 5 west to I-494 west to Hwy 77 north.

The good news - Hwy 62 eastbound will still be open.

Westbound I-94 to I-35W south ramp closure

The ramp from westbound I-94 to southbound I-35W will close for 10 days beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12. It will reopen at 5 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 22.

If you're driving that way, you'll have to stay on westbound I-94 to westbound I-394, then go to southbound Hwy 100 and Hwy 62 east.

The closure comes so crews can do utility work and repave the ramp.

35E southbound closure

35E southbound will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday from the 35 split in Columbus to Hwy 96. The detour there is 35W southbound.
