MEDINA, Minn. - Minnesota-based Polaris Industries and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) are renewing a warning to consumers after a continuing pattern of fires with a line of recreational off-highway vehicles (ROV's).
The concern centers around 2013-2017 Polaris RZR 900 and RZR 1000 ROV's, which were previously recalled by Polaris in April of 2016 to address fire hazards that were responsible for death, serious burns and injuries, and property damage. The problem is that owners of RZR's that were repaired under the recall continue to report fires to the vehicles.
The CPSC and Polaris say they continue to work together to ensure fire risks in these vehicles are addressed. However, at this time, the CPSC and Polaris are taking the step to again make the public aware of the fires involving these vehicles.
