BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - Holy. Moly.
After our weekend blizzard, 15.8” so far at MSP puts us as the snowiest April on record with 26.1" total and counting.
This may surprise some people, but this weekend's doozy was not one of the top five snowstorms in MSP history - even though it did ground all flights Saturday evening. We would need another 3.9" to tie the number five spot.
You can find your area's snow total here on the NWS website.
A couple of the big "winners" for snow totals from the last 24 hours included:
-- Maple Grove at 22 inches
-- Vadnais Heights at 21 inches
-- Fridley at 20 inches
-- Northeast Minneapolis at 19.8 inches
-- West St. Paul at 19.2 inches
Of course, April isn't over yet. With more possibilities for snow in the forecast, we will likely see our monthly total grow.
