Uptown shooting leads to chase, crash in St. Louis Park

Police say a shooting in Uptown led to a chase that ended in St. Louis Park.

MINNEAPOLIS - Police in Minneapolis say a shooting led to a chase that started in Uptown and ended in St. Louis Park early Saturday morning.

According to Minneapolis Police Public Information Officer John Elder, officers were in the area of Lagoon and Humboldt Avenues when they heard shots fired at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday. They responded and witnesses told them the shooter was in a vehicle.

Police approached the vehicle and told the suspect to get out, and the suspect drove away, Elder said.

Police followed the vehicle and the suspect soon crashed in St. Louis Park, according to Elder. The suspect was taken into custody and a gun was located.

An adult man was shot in his leg and chest during the incident, according to police. The case is under investigation.
