PYEONGCHANG, South Korea - The team USA women's cross country skiing team had their best finish ever in PyeongChang.

They finished fifth in the ladies 4 x 5K relay. It's the best finish from a U.S. women's cross country team ever. Unfortunately, it's not enough to get them on the medal spot.

After a tough start, Afton's Jessie Diggins was in the cleanup spot. She started in sixth and moved up to fifth place.

She said she's not disappointed with how her team did.

"We know that we still have like goals left, but we've been ticking off a lot of goals," she said. "And you know it's kind of funny because you can finish fifth and be like, 'Oh bummer you didn't get a medal.' But if you look back when I first joined the team, fifth in the world? That's amazing. And it's important to make sure we celebrate the steps along the way and everything we have achieved."

Team USA isn't out of chances for a medal. They have team sprints coming up mid-week.
