Ian Russell is a Multiskilled Journalist at KARE 11 in the Twin Cities. He joined the news team in January 2024.
Before heading north, Ian has had several stops in his career, including at CBS affiliate THV11, our sister station in Little Rock, Arkansas. Before that, Ian worked at KOMU8, the NBC affiliate for Columbia, Missouri.
Ian is a proud and loud graduate of the University of Missouri, graduating with a bachelor's degree in journalism in December of 2020. Go Tigers!
Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Ian is a fan of KC BBQ and all KC sports teams, including the Chiefs, Royals, and Sporting Kansas City. He’s ready to cheer on all the teams that call the Twin Cities home, though!
Ian loves getting outdoors and is looking forward to exploring what Minnesota has to offer. He is also an avid collector of vinyl records, and will take any and all recommendations for shops to check out!
After living in the south for the past three years, and warmer climates than this his whole life, Ian is (cautiously) excited to trade in the heat of an Arkansas summer for a Minnesota winter.
