Your guide to Minneapolis Art-A-Whirl 2024

With over 1,300 participating artists, galleries and businesses in more than 100 locations across northeast Minneapolis, the annual Art-A-Whirl festival is back.

MINNEAPOLIS — Editor's note: The video above first aired on KARE 11 in May 2023.

After nearly 30 years, it's safe to say organizers of the largest open studio experience in the country have gotten their preparation process down to a fine art.

Boasting over 1,300 participating artists, galleries and businesses in more than 100 locations across northeast Minneapolis, Art-A-Whirl is officially back for its 29th year.

And while locals know the event is more of a vibe than a list of events within a certain construct of time, the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association (NEMAA) said the fest officially kicks off Friday at 5 p.m., and runs through Sunday evening.

Read on for information, links and resources that can help you plan your Art-A-Whirl 2024 weekend.
