MINNEAPOLIS — Why don't you slide ... over to the Basilica Block Party this weekend?

The festival is back for another year, but this time, organizers took the party to Boom Island.

"We are thrilled to bring back the Basilica Block Party in 2024," Father Daniel Griffith, pastor and rector at Basilica of Saint Mary, said when the festival was announced.

"This event has become a cherished tradition for both our community and the city of Minneapolis. Not only does it provide incredible entertainment for attendees, but it also plays a vital role in supporting The Basilica’s mission and outreach to those in need."

The Goo Goo Dolls and The Fray will headline the fest on Friday while Counting Crows and others close it out on Saturday night.

KARE 11's weather team said a few weak showers could pop up here and there in the metro on Saturday, but they don't predict the little bit of precip will seriously impact outdoor plans.

So go ahead and grab Mr. Jones — and get out there while you can.
