The shakeup continues in the Twin Cities brewing market with an announcement that another popular taproom will close.
Lakes & Legends Brewing Company announced on its social media platforms that the taproom, located at 1368 LaSalle Ave., would shut down by year's end after eight years in operation. The brewing company did not offer a specific reason for closing but did share a statement on Facebook thanking team members, suppliers and customers for having "joined the adventure."
"A lifetime of memories made, but all adventures have endings," read the Lakes & legends post. "We plan to close the taproom as we close out the year, but we’re looking forward to going out on a high note. We’ve got a month of celebrations planned, and our 8th Anniversary Party takes on new meaning as it morphs into our “Going Out In Style” party! A sincere thank you for 8 years of love and support."
Lakes & Legends plans to celebrate those eight years with an anniversary party currently set for Dec. 9.
Among other milestones, Lakes & Legends became the first taproom in Minnesota to legally allow dogs to come inside with their owners for a pint and some companionship. The brewer also had several recipes tapped at the Minnesota State Fair over the years.
The brewer is among a handful in recent weeks to announce they are ceasing operations. Dangerous Man, Clutch Brewing Company and Eastlake Craft Brewery have either closed, or will shut down in coming days.
