MINNEAPOLIS — A Minnesota THC beverage company rolled into California and scored a top prize on Wednesday.
Minneapolis-based Trail Magic won the Best Infused Ready-to-Drink beverage at the High Spirits Awards, a national competition of cannabinoid-infused beverages launched by the L.A. Spirits Awards last year.
"The awards include 11 categories — awards are granted from bronze up to platinum — and the highest-scoring winners from each category compete for the top prize in the Best In Show round," according to the news release.
Trail Magic has five flavors with its Half and Half iced tea-lemonade flavor winning the national award. The company's Lime Margarita took home the silver in the same category: Best Infused Ready-to-Drink.
The Minneapolis Cider Company launched Trail Magic a couple of years ago and it's on tap at their spacious industrial building in the Marcy-Holmes neighborhood.
"Since we launched Trail Magic in 2022, our biggest priorities have been taste and quality," said Jason Dayton, co-founder of Trail Magic and Minneapolis Cider Co., in the news release "The THC market has grown so rapidly over the last couple of years, but we've been able to set ourselves apart from the pack by making a beverage that people really enjoy. We always hear that Trail Magic is the best-tasting product on the market, so to get this award is a huge reassurance that we're making the best product we can."
The canned beverage is available in 11 states nationwide and 32 states for online orders.
Trail Magic flavors include Berry Basil (3mg), Mimosa (3mg), and Hop Water (3mg), while Half and Half and Lime Margarita offer options for 5mg and 10mg doses of hemp-derived THC.
The company also launched its Trail Magic Hiking Club, which meets up for monthly group hikes and trail cleanup projects, according to the release.
