The debates might be over, but Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton haven't put down their microphones yet. On Thursday night, they attended the annual Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner where both presidential nominees took to the podium to trade barbs.

While the dinner has traditionally consisted of a light evening of jokes, Trump took it to the next level when discussing his political opponent. The GOP candidate was loudly booed by members of New York's elite and the Catholic church throughout his speech.

"Hillary is so corrupt she got kicked off the Watergate commission. How corrupt do you have to be to get kicked off the Watergate commission?" he said as the guests booed.

But Trump did deliver a few jokes that got some laughs, especially from his opponent.

"Hillary accidentally bumped into me," the former Celebrity Apprentice host said. "And she very civilly said, 'Pardon me.'"

The comment caused Clinton to roar with laughter, while others in the audience sounded unsure.

Trump went on to take a somewhat self-deprecating jab at his wife, Melania, who was in attendance, saying, "The media is even more biased this year than ever before. You want the proof? Michelle Obama gives a speech and everyone loves it, it's fantastic. They think she's absolutely great. My wife, Melania, gives the exact same speech and people get on her case. And I don't get it!"

The Democratic candidate had a few burns of her own, saying, "Whoever wins this election, the outcome will be historic. We'll either have the first female president or the first president who started a Twitter war with Cher."

She also referenced the recent debates, saying, "Come to think of it, it's amazing I'm up here after Donald. I didn't think he'd be ok with a peaceful transition of power."

One joke that didn't seem to go over well, happened when Clinton took a swing at Rudy Giuliani, who attended the dinner.

"Many don't know this, but Rudy actually got his start as a prosecutor, going after wealthy New Yorkers who avoided paying taxes. But, as the saying goes, if you can't beat them, go on Fox News and call them a genius," Clinton quipped while the camera panned to a less-than-pleased Giuliani.
