MSNBC announced in January that Van Susteren had joined the team, and would be hosting a Washington, D.C.-based news program, For the Record With Greta, following her September departure from Fox News.
"I'm thrilled to start my next chapter at MSNBC," Van Susteren said at the time. "The network is the right destination for the smart news and analysis I hope to deliver every day, and I look forward to joining the talented journalists and analysts I respect there."
According to Vanity Fair, Van Susteren's show struggled to gain traction in its six months on the air, and she will be permanently replaced by Ari Melber, MSNBC's chief legal correspondent.
