Gwyneth Paltrow Talks Separating From Goop: 'I Would Like It to be Its Own Brand'

Some things are not meant to consciously uncouple.

But that may be what's happening between Gwyneth Paltrow and her massive lifestyle brand Goop. The 43-year-old actress reportedly told attendees of the Sage Summit in Chicago on Wednesday that she hopes one day, the brand will be known more independently from her personal name.

"More and more, I would like it to be its own brand," she explained (via Us Weekly). "My dream is that one day no one will remember that I had anything to do with it."

"In order to build the brand I want to build, its scalability is limited if I connect to it," she added. "So I always think, 'How can I grow the brand? How can I separate myself from the brand?' And I think its going to be more its own brand."

However, a source tells the publication that Paltrow's comments were not meant to be construed as her leaving the company. Rather, the source says, she hopes that Goop can one day exist as a standalone company, as opposed to "Gwyneth Paltrow's brand."

So it seems, for now at least, Paltrow's Goop holiday gift guide is here to stay.

Meanwhile, Paltrow's real-life conscious uncoupling from her (very amicable!) ex Chris Martin was finally completed this month, as the two finalized their divorce. Paltrow spoke exclusively to ET earlier this year about co-parenting with Martin after the split.

"You have to constantly let go," Paltrow exclusively told ET in March about the secret to joint parenting post-divorce. "You have to let go of old ideas, old resentments. You have to put the kids first, which I think people have the idea of that, but then oftentimes, you struggle with it."
