Kate McKinnon Recreated Ellen DeGeneres' Oscar Selfie at NBC's Upfronts

Saturday Night Live's Kate McKinnon highlighted NBC's star power during NBCUniversal's Upfront Week presentation at Radio City Music Hall on Monday with a throwback to Ellen DeGeneres' epic Oscar selfie.

Saturday Night Live's Kate McKinnon highlighted NBC's star power during NBCUniversal's Upfront Week presentation at Radio City Music Hall on Monday with a throwback to Ellen DeGeneres' epic Oscar selfie.

The pic came at the end of the event, as funnyman Seth Meyers wrapped up the ceremony, saying, "Being in this room, there's a real Academy Awards vibe, and I have to say, the only thing that's missing is a viral moment. And when I think about viral moments, no one's better at that than Ellen DeGeneres. And because her show is seen on all of the NBC-owned stations, and over 70 affiliate stations, and because she's the EP of NBC's Little Big Shots, we asked her if she could be here today and she said 'no.' Right away, a hard 'no.' We didn't even get to the end of the question; she knew where it was going. A hard 'no.'"

Following Myers' jokes Ellen appeared via video to introduced McKinnon as her clone.

"We got a bunch of scientists together and we cloned me, so now there's an Ellen in every major American city," McKinnon joked. "It's like Chick-fil-A but more gay-friendly."

While the real Ellen had wrangled Jared Leto, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Channing Tatum, Julia Roberts, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Lupita Nyong'o, Bradley Cooper, and photo-bombing by Kevin Spacey at the 2014 Academy Awards, McKinnon's Ellen-esque selfie included Ian Ziering (Sharknado: The 4th Awakens); Dennis Haysbert (Incorporated); Jeni Pulos and Jeff Lewis (Flipping Out); Andy Cohen (Watch What Happens Live); Maya Rudolph and Martin Short (Maya & Marty); Kyle Richards (The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills); Kenya Moore (The Real Housewives Of Atlanta); Sophia Bush (Chicago P.D.); Jennifer Lopez and Ray Liotta (Shades Of Blue); Gabriel Macht (Suits), John Cena (WWE), Maria Menounos and Jason Kennedy (E! News); Abigail Spencer, Matt Lanter and Malcolm Barrett (Timeless).
