Suddenly, for millions of fans, the dark clouds parted, birds started chirps, hearts beat faster and to a happier tune. Even Toby Flenderson would have cracked a smile.

Carell was, of course, trolling fans in response to NBC's announcement Wednesday morning at the Television Critics Association press day that Will & Grace would be coming back with a 10-episode revival series.

Original stars Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes are all reuniting for the long-awaited return.

The news is great and all -- no one's hating on Will & Grace coming back -- but Carell getting all our hopes up only to crash them on the rocks for his own amusement might be the most Michael Scott thing he's ever done. The only way we can get over this is for The Office to actually come back. Carell owes it to all the fans now.

All soul-crushing disappointment aside, the Will & Grace revival is still cause for celebration. For more on the exciting announcement, check out the video below.
