Fairgoers fall in love with First Kiss

On the list of must-try State Fair foods, apples don't usually make the cut. But, First Kiss is different.

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. - On the list of must-try State Fair foods, apples don't usually make the list.

"It's very juicy and good."

But this apple is one of the hottest foods of the year.

"Yesterday was a record day for us. They're flying out of here. Even at three dollars."

Yes, it costs a premium and doesn't even come on a stick, but it does have a catchy name.

The University of Minnesota's newest apple got its name, First Kiss, because it ripens early, marking the first kiss of autumn.
