FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. — The Minnesota State Fair is built on nostalgia and celebrating the familiar, and there will be plenty of that on the night of Aug. 30, 2024 when Matchbox Twenty plugs in to play the Grandstand.
Tickets to the show go on sale this Friday, April 12, at 10 a.m. All seats are reserved, and are priced at $67 to $87. Special seats on the Party Deck are $134. They are available at Etix or by calling 800-514-3849.
Matchbox Twenty was impossible to miss from the mid-'90s through 2010, charting with huge hits like "3 AM," "Push," "Unwell," "Bent," "If You're Gone" and "She's So Mean." The band is led by lead singer Rob Thomas, who has also enjoyed a successful solo career with five albums and a guest vocal on "Smooth" with guitar legend Carlos Santana.
During a career that has unfolded over four decades, Matchbox Twenty has sold more than 40 million records worldwide, garnered multiple Grammy Award nominations, and played to millions of fans in arenas, amphitheaters and stadiums across the world.
Matchbox Twenty joins these shows — which were previously announced for the 2024 Minnesota State Fair Grandstand Series — Chance The Rapper (Aug. 23); Nate Bargatze: The Be Funny Tour (Aug. 24); Blake Shelton (Aug. 25); Happy Together Tour 2024 featuring The Turtles, Jay and the Americans, The Association, Badfinger, The Vogues and The Cowsills (Aug. 26); Mötley Crüe (Aug. 29); and KIDZ BOP LIVE 2024 (Sept. 2). Tickets are currently on sale for all those shows.
