What's new at the MN State Fair for 2019

KARE 11's Rena Sarigianopoulos breaks down what attractions are making a debut this year.

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. — We all have our State Fair traditions, but it's fun to sprinkle in a new thing or two as you stroll around the fairgrounds. There's no shortage of new attractions, new food and new Instagram-worthy photo stops.

The North End has a new 12,000-square-foot exhibition hall featuring an Angry Birds activation. Did we mention it's free?

Nearby there's a 24-foot modern corn stalk sculpture which includes a scrolling visualization of fairgoer social media posts.

You can rack up the likes with photos next to 6-foot sculptures of Paul Bunyan, Babe the Blue Ox and Hot Dish Girl by local artist Adam Turman.

And what's the fair without a full belly? New foods for 2019 include a deep-fried dilly dog and deep-fried cookie dough.

Big goat fan? Who isn't? More than 1,400 goats trotted to the fair last year so they opened a whole goat education station for fairgoers to learn all about the internet-beloved farm animal.
