FARGO, N.D. -- Jonathan Scott of HGTV’s "Property Brothers" got into a bar fight in Fargo, N.D., according to information released by local law enforcement.
The incident happened on April 23 according to the local Fargo newspaper, the Forum of Fargo-Moorhead.
Fargo police released footage on Wednesday, June 1, showing some of the scuffle at Dempsey’s Public House, which showed Scott being escorted from the bar.
According to the paper, police said Scott called them claiming he had been assaulted at the bar in an incident involving the staff. Scott and his brother, Drew, were in Fargo for a speaking appearance.
Local authorities said that based on police reports and a review of the video, there was not enough evidence to charge anyone in connection with the incident.
According to the newspaper, Fargo City Attorney Erik Johnson said Scott and a number of other individuals became upset when their drinks were taken from them at the bar’s closing time. Scott and others were being escorted from the bar by staff, when the scuffle ensued.
The security footage released by police shows Scott being escorted from the bar along with others before he re-enters. He is then taken outside a bit more forcefully by bar staff.
Stills from the security footage, seen on a number of sites including TMZ, show Scott being held from behind in what appears to be a choke-hold, though police do not indicate a choke-hold was used in the incident.
