The Ordway

ST. PAUL, Minn. --The Ordway's new $42 million, 1,100 seat concert hall is finally ready for its close-up. For certain its a feast for the eyes with all its gleaming copper and glass, but the real treat will be for the ears when audiences experience music inside the new hall.

A month long series of events is taking place to celebrate the opening and the 30th anniversary of the Ordway beginning this weekend.

The new hall replaces the much smaller McNight Theatre and will be the home to the St. Paul Orchestra.

For concert goers, the new space will provide a connection between the audience and musicians like never before. No seat is more than 90 feet from the stage.

The new concert halls opening is being celebrated with plenty of hoopla. Beginning this weekend, a month-long series of concerts and events called Rock The Ordway will officially usher in this exciting new era for both the theatre and the City of St. Paul.

Free tours of the Ordway and live performances of the new concert hall from 11 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2015.
