Xcel Energy will replace approximately 1.4 million meters in Minnesota with new smart electric meters to enhance the service we deliver to you and provide you with access to detailed energy usage information that can maximize your savings. Smart meter deployment is well underway. We’ve already installed 950,000 smart meters in Minnesota as of July 2024. In Minnesota, smart meter installations will continue through 2025.
