Eden Prairie police warn residents about telephone scam

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Eden Prairie police is warning residents about a telephone scam in which a pre-recorded message plays claiming to be from someone with the City of Eden Prairie.

The message says there's an issue with the resident's social security number, and asks the resident to call back, but police say this is not how the city conducts business.

If you receive a suspicious city-related phone call, call 952-949-8300 to confirm an authorized representative of the city contacted you.

If you believe you have been a victim of a telephone scam, contact police.
