OSSEO, Minn. - On February 12 many schools across the country participated in "No One Eats Alone Day." The purpose of the day is to make kids aware of their peers who may be isolated and eating alone. It's a way to encourage kids to reach out to each other.

At Osseo Middle School sixth grader Jassani Bland spearheaded efforts to get as many kids as possible to participate.

Jassani and several of her classmates started the Osseo Middle School "No One Eats Alone Day" so that no one at their school would feel left out and help people make new friends.

There were teams of student leaders at each lunch period to help kids participate during lunch. They made t-shirts and had a photo booth.

Their efforts are supported by Osseo Middle School teacher and advisor Laura Ringen.
