MINNEAPOLIS — He was really hungry... and had to use the litter box.
Walter, the bright orange Manx cat who has developed quite the following in his role as mascot of Wild Rumpus Bookstore in Minneapolis, slipped out of the store's comfy confines and disappeared on Monday.
As explained on the Wild Rumpus Facebook page, both employees and customers were quite concerned as Walter 'never' leaves the store, and "It is unlike his personality to leave the store, so we hope to bring him home safe and sound!"
Well, mission accomplished. KARE 11 checked in with Jessie at Wild Rumpus Wednesday morning, and Walter is back! It appears he was either hiding somewhere in the building's stairwell, or wandering aimlessly exploring the great big world, but when Jessie was tending to the store's other animals before opening this morning she heard a faint meow at the door. She opened it up, and there was Walter.
"He had a little adventure," Jessie laughed.
The big orange cat was very hungry and had to use his familiar litter box, but otherwise seems OK. He can feel good that all kinds of Wild Rumpus customers and fans posted comments and shared his 'missing' post in hopes of bringing Walter home.
