2 Minnesota food companies create Cinnamon Toast Crunch Bacon

Some might call the new breakfast option a "delicious duo," while others may prefer "Frankenstein food."

After the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Bacon announcement, Hormel officials promised more of "the unexpected" to come in 2025 and beyond.

AUSTIN, Minn — A couple of companies based in Minnesota have mixed their breakfast favorites together to create a new food.

Golden Valley's General Mills has lent some "Cinnadust" from its popular Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal to the makers of Hormel Black Label bacon — concocting the limited-edition Cinnamon Toast Crunch Bacon.

The product "delivers a crisp, sugary crust with a delicious balance of cinnamon, sugar, salt and savory bacon taste," according to the Hormel news release.

Cinnamon Toast Crunch Bacon will hit store shelves on Sept. 16 at "select" Walmart and Kroger locations.

"It doesn't get more iconic than Hormel Black Label Bacon and Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, so we went big with our first-ever co-branded bacon product," said Aly Sill, senior brand manager for Hormel Black Label Bacon in the release. "We're excited to bring fans a bacon that is packed with flavor and blasted with Cinnadust seasoning blend for any eating occasion."

After the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Bacon announcement, Hormel officials promised more of "the unexpected" to come in 2025 and beyond.

Hormel, based in Austin, Minnesota, is no stranger to imaginative food flavors. Its world-famous SPAM is up to a dozen different varieties which include Korean BBQ, Maple and Jalapeno.
