MINNEAPOLIS — Twin Cities celebrity chef Andrew Zimmern has a new TV show up his sleeve, announced publicly on Thursday.
"What's Eating America" will be a five-episode series airing on MSNBC beginning in mid-February.
In the show, Zimmern will travel the country to look at how the issues of immigration, climate change, addiction, voting rights and health care are affecting food and "the everyday lives of Americans."
The premiere on Sunday, Feb. 16, will be a special two-hour episode featuring chef and humanitarian José Andrés.
Zimmern, a four-time James Beard Award winner, is the chef and owner of Lucky Cricket in St. Louis Park. His other endeavors have included hosting several food and travel shows, and founding consulting and catering companies.
You can find his "Canteen" quick-service restaurant at U.S. Bank Stadium and Target Field. And his anticipated food hall and market is expected to open in the Dayton's Project this spring.
