It's not too early for apple picking

You don't have to wait until fall is in full force to get out and try some local apples.

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — Early season apples - including First Kiss (a Honeycrisp breed), SweeTango, RiverBelle and Zestar - are available now at orchards, farmers markets and grocery stores statewide.

These apples offer high-quality tastes that surpass the traditional early cold climate varieties. They are the “first crop” of the growing season, giving Minnesotans the chance to pick up fresh apples for the first time since the previous fall, with apples going from tree to consumer in only a few days.
