MINNEAPOLIS — Alicia Lewis says she makes these Reuben sandwiches every year from a family recipe.
Alicia's Reuben Sandwich Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 slices rye bread
- 3 oz. sliced corned beef or turkey (for a Rachel)
- 1/3 cup sauerkraut, drained
- 1 Tbsp. Thousand Island salad dressing
- 2 slices Swiss cheese
- 4 tsp. butter, softened
Directions:
Top 1 bread slice with corned beef, sauerkraut, dressing and cheese. Top with remaining bread slice. Spread butter on outside of sandwich.
Cook in a preheated skillet over medium heat 4 minutes per side or until golden brown. Serve hot.
