MINNEAPOLIS — Earlier this summer, Twin Cities Chef Christina Nguyen won Best Chef Midwest at this year's James Beard Awards and it's fair to say her restaurants have been bustling since then, especially at Hai Hai in NE Minneapolis.
Nguyen stopped by KARE 11 Saturday to share a family recipe.
Grilling mom's pork skewers:
- 1 lb pork shoulder
- 2 Tbsp oyster sauce
- 2 Tbsp Shaoxing wine
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 1 Tbsp garlic, microplaned
- S&P
Process, slice pork shoulder thinly and marinate in oyster sauce, honey, sherry wine or Shaoxing wine, garlic. Skewer, then grill. Serve with lettuce wraps and herbs.
