Here are our favorite spooky, scary plants for indoors and out.

1. Black mondo grass - This dark-colored grass adds a gothic touch to any garden, especially when planted en masse.

2. Black Roses - Black roses are often associated with death and are a popular choice for Halloween decorations.

3. Spider Plants - With their long, spindly leaves, spider plants resemble spiders and are a great addition to any Halloween decor.

4. Ghost Plants - Ghost plants, also known as Indian pipe, are a white, ghostly looking plant that is associated with death and the supernatural.

5. Bat Flowers - Bat flowers have dark, bat-shaped petals and are often used in Halloween-themed floral arrangements.

6. Bloodroot - Bloodroot gets its name from the red sap that is produced when the root is cut. Its bloody appearance makes it an appropriate addition to Halloween decor.

7. Devil's Ivy - Devil's ivy, with its dark green leaves and twisted vines, has a sinister appearance that makes it an appropriate addition to Halloween decor.

8. Poison Ivy - Poison ivy, with its three pointed leaves, is a common symbol of danger and is often associated with Halloween.

9. Venus Flytrap - Venus flytraps are carnivorous plants that trap and eat insects, making them a fitting addition to any Halloween decor.

10. Black Cat Petunias - Black cat petunias have dark, almost black petals and are often used in Halloween-themed floral arrangements.

11. Skeleton Flowers - Skeleton flowers, also known as ghost flowers, have white, translucent petals that resemble bones.

12. Witches' Brooms - Witches' brooms are a type of growth that occurs on some trees and shrubs. They resemble broomsticks and are often associated with witches and Halloween.

13. Moonflowers - Moonflowers bloom at night and have large, white petals that resemble a full moon.

14. Ghost Pepper - Ghost peppers are some of the hottest peppers in the world and are often used in Halloween-themed dishes and recipes.

15. Blackthorn - Blackthorn is a type of shrub or small tree that produces dark, black berries. It is associated with darkness and the supernatural, making it an appropriate addition to Halloween decor.

16. Purple fountain grass - The deep purple hue of this grass is reminiscent of witches' robes, making it a great choice for Halloween.

Of course not all of these plants are appropriate for outdoors in a Minnesota fall, but it can be Halloween year round in your garden!
