GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — Few things can set the mood for a festive holiday gathering like a dazzling centerpiece or arrangement.
Making one doesn't need to be difficult, but there are some basic design principles to keep in mind to make it shine. Bobby and Laura headed to Len Busch Roses for a lesson, and came back talking about the four Fs. Here they are:
Focal - Larger flowers usually round in shape. Roses. Sunflowers, Gerbera examples
Filler - Multi-bloom stems that have smaller flowers on each stem. Solidaster , limonium Baby’s breath.
Foliage - Green accents to help to form a base for florals. Ruscus, lily grass and agonis were shown.
Form flowers- Unique shape flowers that add interest into the design. Alstroemeria and kangaroo paws were shown.
Along with utilizing the four Fs, use a variety of vases mingled with some candles and gourds down the table, spread out enough so you still have transparency through them for table conversations.
At the end of your event, these vases can be given to guests as parting gifts.
