SAINT PAUL, Minn. — Delivery and curbside orders continue at BlackStack Brewing in St. Paul, but the impact of missing customers is being felt.
"Just trying to make sure all our people are taken care of and that they're all in a good place, but every day is hard for sure," says BlackStack Co-Founder and Creative Director, Murphy Johnson.
Johnson says when they found out about the All Together Beer Project they couldn't say no.
"It feels really important to us that we are trying to do something," he says.
The All Together Beer Project was started by Other Half Brewing in New York City.
Breweries around the globe are all brewing the same beer and will donate the proceeds to charities helping people in the hospitality industry impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Other Half is providing a base IPA recipe and giving breweries the freedom to add their own touch.
"We're definitely putting a little bit of our own spin on it," Murphy says. "We have a lot of fun with those sorts of things."
According to the All Together website nearly 450 breweries in 29 countries are taking part.
Johnson wants others in the brewery industry to know they aren't alone.
"Hang in there. We're all feeling it," he says. "Keep your head up."
Johnson says they hope to start selling the "All Together" beer the week of April 27th.
BlackStack will be donating their proceeds to The North Stands, which is a nonprofit giving stipends to hospitality industry professionals impacted by COVID-19.
