Valleyfair aims to hire 1,600 seasonal associates during week-long 'hiring blitz'

The seasonal positions include ride operators, food and beverage workers, lifeguards and security team members.

SHAKOPEE, Minn. — Since it hasn't felt like winter — Minnesota winter, anyway — Valleyfair is making the jump to spring, preparing to hire 1,600 seasonal employees for the 2024 season.

Officials at the venerable amusement park say they expect to fill most of those positions during a hiring event set for Feb. 17 through Feb. 24. Candidates will apply online, and may get interviewed and hired the same day. Some of the positions available include:

  • Food & Beverage (14 Years of Age or Older)
  • Aquatics (15 Years of Age or Older)
  • Rides (16 Years of Age or Older)
  • Security (18 Years of Age or Older)
  • Many more

Valleyfair says those applying should love helping others, have good judgment and a commitment to safety, and be able to work and interact with people from different backgrounds. Hourly pay ranges from $17 to $20 per hour for workers ages 16 and above based on position, experience and prior service.

“Our seasonal associates are the heartbeat of our mission, dedicated to creating the ultimate guest experience,” said vice president and general manager Raul Rehnborg in a release announcing the hiring event. “Valleyfair takes pride in providing not just competitive wages and amazing perks, but also fostering a culture of fun. We can’t wait to showcase the skills, talents, and character of our associates as part of the Valleyfair family this year.”

Those hired will receive other benefits as well, including free admission to any of Cedar Park's (Valleyfair's parent company) 13 properties across the U.S., special employee ride nights, and discounts on merchandise and food.
