Guide to Mother's Day deals and gifts in the Twin Cities

From local events to restaurant specials, here are a few ideas for your Mother's Day celebration.

MINNESOTA, USA — Mother's Day is coming up on Sunday — have anything special in mind for mom?

If you haven't, don't fret. Here are some of the deals and freebies on restaurants and gifts for her special day. 

Events

The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden Art Fair is taking place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can find local artists, food trucks and a botanical market with unique floral gifts for mom. For more information, click here

If shopping is her thing, head to IKEA for a Mom's Day Out. You can drop off the kids Friday afternoon for 1.5 hours of shopping, a free gift and a hot meal voucher for the Swedish Restaurant. Click here for more details

Como Park Zoo & Conservatory is hosting the Mother's Day Bonsai Show full of meticulously curated trees. Then, you can browse the zoo (and catch a glimpse of the baby giraffe) for a fun, free activity! 

Stop and smell the flowers at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. The center is hosting picnic lunches on Sunday, which include gluten-free options. Ticket prices include admission and a lunch, and are set at $20 for members and children under age 15 and $40 for non-members.

Restaurants

Moms eat free with the purchase of a meal at D'Amico & Sons on Sunday. So take the whole family - adults are $28 and kids are $10 for a pass to the brunch buffet. 

Do you have toddlers in tow? Consider The Local - West End in St. Louis Park for brunch. Kids eat free if they're under age five. Adults are $40 and kids ages 5-11 are $15. Call 952-247-0200 to make a reservation. 

Celebrate the special day with a toast with a complimentary "mom-osa" at Earl Giles in Minneapolis. You can make a reservation online with a $25 deposit. 

Always a family favorite (breadsticks!), Olive Garden is offering a deal to sweeten the day after Mother's Day. You can order any entrée and get a take-home meal for just $6 extra. 

If you're gifting a dining experience, consider Outback Steakhouse's $10 bonus for every $50 gift card purchased. 

Online gifts

If you're looking to spend a little extra on mom, Kay Jewelers has some meaningful and lasting options. The site is offering 30% off everything and 50% off on certain Mother's Day deals. 

Leaning towards a classic gift to show your appreciation for mom? You can snag a gorgeous bouquet online. 1-800 Flowers.com has deals up to 40% off. 

For the athletes and athleisure wearers, a $100 gift card is just $80 at Adidas for Mother's Day.
