MINNEAPOLIS — Editor's note: The video above first aired on KARE 11 on Sept. 7, 2024.

All it took was a little bit of magic to crown the winner of the inaugural "Coolest Thing Made in Minnesota" contest.

After stiff competition in the contest's final four round, the public hath spoken: 3M's Scotch Magic Tape, a beloved product used by people around the world, is *officially* the coolest thing made in Minnesota.

The contest, sponsored by the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce in partnership with BMO, launched the competition to highlight the state's long history of innovation and showcase its most unique, economy-fueling products.

"Minnesota is a state of innovation that has brought many remarkable and life-changing products to market," said Doug Loon, president and CEO of the Chamber. "The products in this year's contest truly represent the best of what our state has to offer."

The legendary office supply beat out Action Manufacturing's ActionTrack Chair; Red Wing Shoe Company's Beckman Boot; and Midwest Floating Island's Innovative National Aquarium Wetland.

More details about the contest can be found on the chamber's website.
