MINNEAPOLIS - Police officers in Minneapolis are investigating yet another deadly shooting this weekend, this one leaving two people dead.
Around 9:45 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the 2600 block of Emerson Avenue North to a report of shots fired outside the Emerson Food Market.
Police say when officers arrived they found one man dead from a gunshot wound and two men injured.
The two men were taken to North Memorial Medical Center.
One of the men who was in critical condition died at the hospital.
One person is in custody in connection with the shooting, according to John Elder, Minneapolis Police Department spokesman.
On Friday, a man was found shot to death in a car in the Cedar-Riverside area. In a separate shooting, one man was fatally shot and three others injured in north Minneapolis just before midnight Friday.
"It's too early to call this gang activity. We are in the infancy of these investigations. There's nothing at this point that leads us to believe that they are tied together," said Elder.
