Alicia joined KARE 11 in December of 2014. Before moving to the Twin Cities, Alicia was the morning reporter and fill-in anchor at WICS ABC Newschannel 20 in Springfield, Illinois.
Alicia graduated from St. Cloud State University where she wore many hats as a reporter, anchor and managing editor for the university's award-winning news station.
Alicia is thrilled to be back home with family and friends working for the station she grew up watching.
When I was young, I wanted to be: A meteorologist or a news anchor for the "TODAY" show! The math and science was a tad bit challenging so I went down the path I was much better at which is telling stories.
Describe your perfect day: Catch up on sleep, have a delicious brunch, go on a scenic hike near a lake and spend the rest of the day grilling and hanging out at the lake with friends and family.
Favorite vacation spot: Quebec, Canada! It is absolutely beautiful there... and they have poutine!
Favorite sport to play: Volleyball! I played all my life and even coached a Junior Olympic team out of St. Cloud, Minn.
Favorite story you ever worked on: I did a segment called "Road Trippin" where I was able to travel the Midwest showcasing the must-see destinations.
Why do you like your job: I am passionate about engaging communities through the stories I tell. I want people to know what's happening in their community and out on the roads so they can leave their home without running into any issues.
Family: My wonderful parents live in Osceola, WI. My big brother, his wife, as well as my cute niece and nephew live in St. Cloud, Minn. My two hilarious big sisters live in Minneapolis. I am beyond blessed with how lucky I am to have such an amazing family.
Feel free to send me an email anytime :) I would love to say hello!
