The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board has temporarily closed the beach on 32nd Street, after they found that E. coli bacteria exceeded state guidelines.
Officials say the closure is likely due to the copious rain over the weekend, which brought large amounts of stormwater into the lake.
There are no reports of any illness from beach goers, but the MPRB closes the beaches if bacteria levels are high.
The MPRB is set to re-sample the beach June 26. The beach will reopen when the bacteria levels are within state guidelines.
