Car crashes into Edina Holiday station, 5 injured

EDINA, Minn. - Five people are injured after a car crashed into an Edina Holiday station on Saturday.

The call came in just before 1 p.m. Edina city officials say a 46-year-old woman drove into the Holiday on Interlachen Boulevard.

Five people, including the driver, were taken to the hospital with injuries. Police say one person's injuries are "serious."

The cause of the crash is unknown but police are treating it "more as an accident," they say.

Regis Woodson said he was sitting in a U-Haul with his kids when the Toyota came barreling toward them. He said the car then struck the mother of his children, who was standing outside the store.

"Knocked her out of the way instantly, like a movie," Woodson said. "And it just tossed her right in the air and she just laid out."

Woodson said she has a broken leg and cuts on her head.

State Patrol assisted Edina Police with accident reconstruction. Personnel from St. Louis Park and Hopkins also responded.
