MINNEAPOLIS — What better way to start Independence Day than by lacing up the ol' running shoes and taking part in the Red, White & Boom! Run on the beautiful Mississippi Riverfront.
The annual July 4 event, put on by Twin Cities in Motion and Summit Brewing, offers runners the choice of 5K, Half Marathon or two-person relay. All three looped courses start and end next to the Mississippi River in Minneapolis with a bold final mile crossing the iconic, American-flag lined Stone Arch Bridge.
After the race you can celebrate the star-spangled day with a misty cooling zone, music and a post-race picnic.
