EAGAN, Minn. — An Eagan man who was reported missing and was desperately being sought by family and friends has been found safe.
Eagan Police posted on the department's Facebook page that David Benson was located late Tuesday morning in the city of Newport.
Benson was found at the same time a massive search effort was underway to locate him. The Eagan resident and father of three left his workplace early Monday and hadn't been seen since.
His wife posted on her own Facebook page, thanking those who put their lives on hold to find Benson. "My David has been found safe," she wrote. I have no words for the appreciation my family has for every one of you that has lifted us up, searched and never gave up."
Volunteers massed at the Big Rivers Regional Trail parking lot off Highway 13 Tuesday morning and headed out in twos to search. Benson had last been spotted on foot near Pilot Knob/Washington Drive at 6:40 a.m. Monday.
At this point police aren't commenting on the factors behind Benson's disappearance.
