GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — It all comes down to this.
KARE 11's month-long Food Fight wraps up Thursday, as KARE 11 anchors battle to see who can collect the most donations for The Salvation Army to help families facing food insecurity.
Each team is making a final push on Thursday, March 27 with a special food collection event at KARE 11's Golden Valley studios from noon to 6:30 p.m.
Donors are invited to stop by KARE 11 at 8811 Olson Memorial Highway to drop off a non-perishable food item in our north parking lot, where volunteers will collect and weigh donations that come in for each team. Visitors can also order food from Flo's Eats food truck, which will donate 11% of their proceeds to the team with the most orders!
Entering the final day, Team Julie holds a commanding lead, with more than $25,000 raised so far; Team Randy surges from fourth to second place, just a few dollars ahead of Team Reggie. After leading much of the month, Team Bel has some catching up to do on the final day!
Two teams received an extra donation boost from Cub Foods following a friendly bags tournament. Watch the video below to see who won:
After all of the donations are collected and weighed, the winning team will be announced on KARE 11 News at 10 p.m.
If you can't make it to KARE 11's studios on Thursday, you can still support your favorite team with an online financial donation; check out the donation forms for each team below:
