MINNEAPOLIS — KARE 11 and Children’s Minnesota want to make sure kids can get the best care, no matter the cost.
But some families don’t have the resources to afford that care. That's why KARE 11 and Children's Minnesota are teaming up to collect donations through Give 11 and the Children's Minnesota website.
Children's Minnesota is an independent, nonprofit health system that relies on the generosity of the community; no child is ever turned away for care.
According to Children's Minnesota, nearly half of its patients rely on Medicaid, which only reimburses 70 cents for every dollar of services. Donations cover the remainder of the cost, from medical care to wrap-around care like social workers, child life specialists, and Children's own Star Studio in-house TV station.

Children's Minnesota has been supporting children's health care since 1924, with two hospitals (Minneapolis and St. Paul), nine primary and specialty clinics, and six rehabilitation clinics. As the seventh largest pediatric health system in the country, Children's Minnesota serves more than 135,000 kids every year. Learn more on the Children's Minnesota website.
